727,086. Cycle brakes. RALEIGH CYCLE CO., Ltd. Jan. 8, 1954 [Jan. 23, 1953], No. 1971/53. Class 136(1). In a bicycle front wheel brake of the pull up type, the stirrup a, al is provided with shoecarrying extension pieces f, f<SP>1</SP> so constructed that each shoe is supported at a point off-set from the general plane of the stirrup a substantial distance relative to the length of the shoe. The extension pieces f, f<SP>1</SP> are cranked and are each secured to the stirrup by a single bolt e or e<SP>1</SP> and are formed with an edge notch g or g<SP>1</SP> which engages with a turned up end j or j<SP>1</SP> of the stirrup. Guide pins k, k<SP>1</SP> are secured to the ends j, j<SP>1</SP> and fit slidably in guide brackets attached to the front forks.
