A unitary, double-walled, readily removable air-heating casing comprising a hollow back wall 2 and two hollow side walls 4 to surround the firebasket of an open fireplace, and having lower and upper inlet and outlet openings for air, has one or more internal baffles 6, 9. These baffles may be horizontal or inclined, and may be perforated. Specifications 1733/04, [Class 126], and 585,970 are referred to.
