Abstract

726,800. Corsets. POIRETTE CORSETS, Inc. Sept. 1, 1952, No. 21992/52. Class 141. A foundation garment comprises a front panel 15 which is non-elastic at least transversely, a rear panel 25 elastic longitudinally and non- elastic transversely, front and rear pair of panels 16, 23 extending therefrom and elastic at least transversely, two side panels 20 secured between a panel of each pair and non-elastic at least transversely, and two sets of obliquely disposed elastic reinforcing strips 18 secured at their ends to the front and side panels. Further reinforcing strips 27 may extend between the rear and side. panels. The pairs of panels may be of two-way stretch fabric whilst the front, side and rear panels are longitudinally elastic, there being a two-way stretch insert 33 above the rear panel. The side panels may terminate above the lower edge of the garment the front and rear panels of the pairs meeting below them. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 722,757.
