A device for quantitatively forming and dispensing a mixture of two liquids in predetermined relative amounts comprises two mixing chambers each associated with a smaller capacity adjustable metering chamber, so arranged together with pressure actuated valve means, that when one mixing chamber discharges a mixture of the two liquids, its associated metering chamber receives a charge of a first one of the liquids, and the other metering chamber delivers a charge of the first liquid into its associated mixing chamber whilst the second liquid is also supplied to that mixing chamber, and when that mixing chamber is full, the valve means is operated to reverse the function of the respective chambers for a repeat of the whole operation. In the position of the parts of the apparatus shown in the Figure, a metering chamber 6 contains a first liquid received from a tank 3, and a mixing chamber 11<SP>1</SP> has commenced to deliver its contents to a discharge pipe 1, through a cylinder 23 and port 24. A pump 8 delivers a second liquid from a tank 9 into the mixing chamber 11 and builds up an air pressure which, acting through a tube 12, forces a piston 2 rapidly to the left. hand end of a cylinder 2<SP>1</SP>, having overcome the resistance of a spring catch 18. A port 14 in the piston 2 is brought into alignment with ports 5 and 34 in the metering chamber 6 and mixing chamber 11, and the contents of the chamber 6 flows into the mixing chamber 11 A slot 15 in the piston 2 opens a passage between the tank 3 and metering chamber 6<SP>1</SP>, so that the metering chamber 6<SP>1</SP> receives a charge of liquid from the tank 3. The second liquid continues to be pumped into the mixing chamber 11 until a float 19 closes the port 34, whereupon a pres sure is built up in the chamber 11 by the pump 8 and this pressure forces a piston 17 to the left By this action pistons 10, 10<SP>1</SP> are moved to the right so that the chamber 11 communicates with the outlet 1 and delivers its contents there through, and the pump 8 commences to delive liquid from the tank 9 into the metering cham ber 11<SP>1</SP>, the action continuing with the same sequence of operations just described. The volume of the metering chambers 6, 6<SP>1</SP> is adjust able by means of displaceable pistons 7, 7<SP>1</SP> The movement of the piston 17 causes operation of a metering device 37 by which the amount of discharged mixture can be read.
