A folding, horizontally slidable, door comprises a double sheet of flexible material made e.g. of fabric, leather, or plastic, and stiffened by panels 50, the material being fastened together between the panels at 35, 36, 38, &c., to leave unstiffened portions which act as hinges, and the door being suspended from a channel member 62 by means of blocks 56 which are rotatably connected by pins 54 to plates 52 riveted to the top edges of the panels 50 and have side grooves 58 to receive the inturned edges 60 of the member 62. The sheet material is secured at one edge by snap fasteners 30 to a jamb 20 of the door frame and, in order to provide neat appearing joints 34, 36, &c., a cord 38 is locked between seams 39 in each joint. In a modification, Fig. 10, a sheet 70.of waterproof plastic has grooved openings 72 to receive plates of translucent, or transparent, material 76 which are made progressively shorter throughout the length of the door and provide sufficient stability for the door to fold easily. The door is secured to the blocks 80 by rivets 78 which are secured to the top edge of the sheet 70 during the moulding operation. In a further modification the sliding blocks are mounted in a channel arranged with its inturned edges lying in a vertical plane, the blocks being connected to the top of the door by hook-shaped pins each of which is rotatably mounted at one end in a sliding block and has a ball at the other end received in a socket secured to the top edge of the door.
