Abstract

724,783. Feeding bobbins to machines. HALSTENBACH, W., ROSENKRANZ, C. G., and PLUTTE, A., [trading as HALSTENBACH & CO.]. Jan. 19, 1953 [Jan. 17, 1952], No. 1547/53. Class 120 (3). In apparatus for feeding tapered bobbins in orderly arrangement to machines each bobbin 10 falling through a funnel 1 is conveyed by a slide 2 to a V-form trough comprising pivoted flaps 3 and 4, the bobbin assuming a horizontal position imposed by the flaps and limited by an adjustable stop 7. The flaps are opened to an increasing extent so that initially the smaller end of the bobbin falls through the widening slot between the flaps until the bobbin is suspended vertically by the edges of the flaps gripping'the larger end of the bobbin : then the bobbin is released and falls into a collecting funnel 8 and through an outlet 9, whereupon the flaps return to closed or slightly open position in readiness for the receipt of the next bobbin.
