Abstract

723,673. Cyclone furnaces. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd. April 21, 1952, [April 21, 1951.] No. 9917/52. Drawings to Specification. Class 51 (1). Combustion apparatus comprises a cyclone furnace which discharges downwardly towards the floor of a secondary furnace chamber and which has a gas outlet in the form of a throat extending within and spaced from the peripheral wall of the cyclone furnace, wherein fuel and air is supplied to the lower part of the cyclone furnace in the neighbourhood of the gas outlet, whilst the upper part of the cyclone furnace tapers upwardly. Additional air may be introduced into the upper end of the cyclone furnace. Specification 723,737 is referred to.
