Abstract
723,569. Discharging liquids by gas pressure. JUNIPER, Ltd., A. T. Aug. 12, 1953. [May 12, 1952] No. 11916/52. Class 102 (2). Apparatus for delivery measured quantities of liquid comprises a hand-operable gun 10, Figs. 1, 2, having a transparent graduated container 28 secured thereto, a spring-loaded valve 32 connected by a yoke 36 to a pivotallymounted trigger 38 and a two-way valve 43 having limbs 43b, 43c connected respectively to the liquid and air spaces of a tank containing a supply of liquid under air pressure. A vent cock 30 is fitted on the container 28. To charge the container with liquid, the valve 43 is moved to connect the limb 43b to the gun, the cock 30 opened and the trigger 38 pressed to open the valve 32 against its spring. To discharge the container, the limb 43c of the valve 43 is connected to the gun, the cock 30 closed and the trigger 38 again pressed to open the valve 32 to admit compressed air from the tank to eject the liquid in the container through the nozzle 20 which may be connected by a flexible pipe 44 to an otherwise inaccessible point where the liquid is required,.e.g., an aircraft tank.
