Abstract

723,040. Rocket motors. MINISTER OF SUPPLY. May 19, 1953 [May 19, 1952], No. 12671/62. Class 9(2). A solid propellant jet reaction motor 12 comprises a hollow container 11, a filling of solid propellant therein, and a container for extinguishing liquid which container is connected on the one hand with the propellant container and on the other hand with a supply of gas under pressure, so that extinguishing liquid may be forced into the propellant chamber by opening valve 15, when desired or automatically when motor develops a predetermined thrust.
