722,365. Lifting hay-ricks. BOSWELL, J. H. July 2,1953 [July 30, 1952], No. 19231/52 Class 6 (3). [Also in Group XXX] A hay-rick lifter comprises a load-supporting tined, base 11 projecting substantially perpendicularly from the lower edge of a back-rack 5, 6, a wheel-axle mounting 10 being secured to the lower end of the backrack so that the wheels 15 rest on the ground in use, and a telescopic draw-bar 17, 18, is pivoted'to the mounting 10 and linked by struts 22 to brackets 23 at the upper end of the back-rack, so that, when the free end of the drawbar is coupled to a tractor the bar can be extended to cause the device to tilt about the wheels-axis and raise the base 11 from the ground. The back rack includes struts 14 which act as lateral supports for the load. The two parts of the drawbar can be pinned together in either the collapsed or extended position. According to the Provisional Specification, the wheels 15 may be raised out of ground contact when the platform is on the ground.
