Abstract
719,512. Rectifying arrangements. SIEMENS-REINIGER-WERKE AKT.-GES. Sept. 24, 1952 [Sept. 28, 1951], No. 23996/52. Class 38(2) In a unit for supplying direct voltage of high value to X- ray apparatus, which comprises an oilfilled casing K containing apparatus such as transformers 1, 4, condensers 3, resistances 2 and rectifier 6, the rectifiers are substantially cut off from the rest of the apparatus by a partition 7 and cooled independently by the circulation of fluid through a coil 8. The rectifiers are of the foil-type built up of foils comprising the selenium layer with the cointer-electrode sprayed on. In alternative constructions, the rectifiers are arranged at the sides of the casing, Fig. 2, (not shown), or in insulating tubes through which the cooling fluid passes, Figs. 3, 4, (not shown). The rectifiers and X-ray tube may both be cooled by the same fluid, e.g. water.
