Abstract
718,102. Moulds for building blocks &c. PICKFORDS (SOUTH AFRICA), Ltd. July 16, 1952 [July 16, 1951], No. 16859/51. Class 87 (2) A mould comprising walls 5, 15 has a liner with end walls 7 and a base 6, to facilitate the removal of a moulded block. After moulding, the mould is inserted, the liner held down by means of projections 23, and the mould raised by handles 16, to lift the mould off the liner and the moulded block. Members 12 on the base 6 engage screws 11 to prevent the base from becoming detached from the mould. Projections 10 on the mould walls 15 engage lugs 9 on the walls 7, to cause them to splay outwards away from the block. The walls 7 may be pivoted to the base 6 or both walls and the base may be formed from one piece of metal in such a manner that the walls tend to spring outwardly. Cores 17 may be fixed to the mould bottom by screws 18. Liners may be provided to form recesses in the blocks or to produce decorative effects.
