Abstract

717,726. Valve circuits. CREED & CO., Ltd. Aug. 15, 1952 [Sept. 7, 1951], No. 20583/52. Class 40 (6). [Also in Group XXXV] Frequency references in an automatic system for synchronizing high-speed facsimile transmission (see Group XXV) are provided by a standard source with dividers and multipliers. The standard source 23 which may be e.g. a 240 c/s tuning fork feeds to a frequency doubling circuit followed by a tripler circuit giving a 1440 c/s output. The frequency doubling circuit comprises paraphase-splitter valves 146, 148 having their outputs connected in parallel through halfwave rectifiers 156, 159 to the grid of a valve 160 which has a positively biased suppressor and the control grid biased to cut-off to generate a large third harmonic component, which is selected by a tuned filter 169, 170 in the anode circuit. A 60 c/s output is derived from a conventional multivibrator divider 141, 142.
