Abstract
715,095. Electric grills and hot-plates. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. March 27, 1953 [March 28, 1952], No. 7991/52. Class 39 (3) An electric grill 14 and an electric hot-plate 10 are arranged for separate energization and are combined as a single unit so that the hotplate is removably supported on a cover plate 11 above the grill structure. The apparatus is supported on a cooker at one end by the plug 13 and at the other end by levelling screws 18 passing through lugs 12c on the casing 12. The grill comprises resistance wire wound spirally on supports 14c passing through holes in transverse formers 14d held in grooves in U-shaped frames 14e open at the bottom and is mounted with a reflector 15 and a wire guard 16 in a casing 12 carrying at one end a plug 13 with pins 13a and an earthing plug 13b. A cover plate 11 is mounted above the casing 12 by screws 12d. A screw 10a secures a hot-plate casing 10 on the cover plate 11, under which the leads pass to the hot-plate. Spring leaf members project out from the strips 14e and press against the casing 12. The hot-plate may be of cast iron or may comprise tubular sheathed elements. The device carries a multi-heat switch or an input regulating device. According to the Provisional Specification, the hotplate may be formed integral with the grill.
