E Jan. 29, 1952, No. 2410/52 Class 87 (2) A device for retreading used tyres or applying treads to tyres during manufacture including means for embedding wire coils in the tread, comprises a cylindrical curing ring 2 having radially inwardly projecting flanges 3 and design-forming ribs 8 Recesses 12 are formed in the ring between the ribs, and these recesses house the wire coils 17. The ring is strengthened by an annuiar metal band 9 crimped thereon at 10, and to the band is soldered a heating coil 15...When the tread 6 is applied, the coils project beyond the tread surface, as at 21. These projections wear off.
