[Also in Group XXV] A false ceiling comprises a plurality of abutting panels 1 having clipped corners 4 which define an opening therebetween supported by a hanger assembly comprising three elements 7, 8, 9 adjustable vertically relatively to each other, one end of the element 9 being fixedly attached to the mounting surface 3, the element 8 being telescopically adjustable relative to element 9, and the element 7 being' adjustably connected to element 8 and extending through the opening defined by the corners 4 of abutting panels, the, panels being seated on the element 7. The panels may be in the form of translucent sheets &c., or of lattice louvre design as shown, each with a boundary frame 5 and strip louvres 6. The bracket e'ements 8, 9 each have spaced holes 22 and are adjustably connected by a nut 24 and a screw 23 passed through registering holes. The element 7 comprises a supporting head 10 having a bolt 11 which passes through a hole 13 in a dog 12 and through a hole in flange 20 on element 8 to screw into a nut 21. The head 10 has fins 15 for manipulation and decoration and a number of lateral cam-like protuberances 16 in the upper face. The dog 12 seats on the head 10 with upwardly extending fingers 18 in interlocking engagement with the corner cells 26 of the points, and with downwardly extending legs 17 coacting with the protuberances 16. When the head 10 is turned to give a fine vertical adjustment of the assembly the legs 17 ride over protuberances 16 to produce a ratchet-like action, and in the adjusted position the legs lie in the spaces between protuberances to lock the assembly against accidental disturbance.
