Abstract
Riboflavin - 51 - monophosphoric acid ester is obtained by reacting riboflavin with metaphosphoric acid, hydrolysing the crude mixture obtained thereby and separating riboflavin-51-monophosphoric acid ester by fractional crystallization and salt formation from the resulting mixture of riboflavin, riboflavin-51-monophosphoric acid ester and riboflavin polyphosphoric acid esters. The phosphorylation may be effected by heating together riboflavin and metaphosphoric acid for 10-15 minutes at about 60 DEG C. and the product hydrolysed by means of aqueous mineral acid. An example is given.
