Abstract

712,262. Dry plate rectifiers. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-GES. Dec. 13, 1951. No. 29180/51. Class 37. In a rectifier stack each rectifier disc has a current collecting electrode stuck on the semiconducting layer or on the counter electrode. As shown Figs. i and 2 an annular collecting electrode 3 e.g. of iron is stuck on a selenium layer formed on base electrode 1 utilizing as at 2 aluminium bronze as the adhesive. The counter electrode 4 covers the selenium layer and the current collecting electrode 3. In a stack of such rectifiers pressure is exerted on distance piece 5 and this pressure may be chosen so high that the metal of the counter electrode begins to flow thus securing a very close contact between the distance piece 5 and the counter electrode 4 . Both outside and inside edges of the stuck-on electrode 3 are bevelled as shown. If the current collecting electrode is stuck on the counter electrode connection between the two may be established or strengthened by a ring or collar of soldered metal.
