Class 39(1) [Also in Group XL(c)] A cathode-ray display tube for a radar system has its Y plates near the fluorescent screen than the X plates and they are arranged to approach one another in the " positive X" direction so that for a given voltage between the Y plates the field intensity acting on the beam is proportional to the instantaneous value of the potential difference applied to the X plates.
