Abstract
709,154. Centrifugal separators. VOITH GES., J. M. March 26, 1952 [April 28, 1951], No. 7783/52. Class 23 Solid impurities are separated from a fibrous suspension in a separator comprising a rotary disc 5 to one side of which the suspension to be purified is fed, a stationary collector chamber 2 for the impurities surrounding the disc, and an outlet 3 for the purified suspension extending into the chamber and opening on the side of the disc opposite to the side to which the suspension is fed. The left and right hand sides of Fig. 1 show different embodiments of the invention. The disc, driven by a motor 7, may have a concave feed surface or a feed surface provided with vanes 8. The impurities are withdrawn from the chamber by means of tangential or annular extensions 10, 12 provided with doors.
