708,512. Glass blowing. SOC. VERRERIES HEMATN FRERES. Nov. 11, 1952 [Nov. 23, 1951], No. 28444/52. Class 56 In a press-and-blow machine the finishing mould comprises two superposed coaxially aligned parts 5, 7 of which the part 5 is a sleeveshaped stationary part having an unbroken transverse cross-section and the part 7 comprises separable parts for forming a foot &c. or the glass article. When the parts 7 are open as shown, the rough mould 12 is moved axially into the part 5, a gob of glass is deposited in the rough mould and pressed to rough shape 19 by a plunger 14. The rough shape is now suspended by a two-part ring mould 3 and the plunger 14 and rough mould 12 withdrawn in opposite directions. The parts 7 are now closed and a blow head is placed over the ring mould and the rough shape is blown. The moulds may be mounted on the table of an intermittently rotated machine.
