Abstract

708,183. Rotary brushes. ENGIS, Ltd. March 20, 1952 [Dec. 22, 1950], No. 31302/50 Class 19 A rotary brush comprises a plurality of separately removable brush sections mounted radially in dovetail slots to form a circular area of bristles with the working face lying in a plane normal to the axis of rotation. As shown, brush sections are held in slots secured to radial arms of a frame. An inner ring 10 and an outer sleeve 14 prevent endwise movement of the brushes, the sleeve being adjustible axially to vary the amount of support and protection it provides for the bristles. The frame may be made integrally of sheet metal, or may be of welded construction. According to the Provisional Specification the frame may be cast, and the brushes may be replaced by pads and may be arranged tangentially to the inner ring.
