Abstract

705,334. Carding-engines. KULMBACHER SPINNEREI. Dec. 7, 1951 [Sept.. 28, 1951], No. 28760/51. Class 120(1) A flat card having a doffing and transfer roller w provided with card clothing for removing the "flat strips" at the licker-in side thereof and conveying them to the fleece of raw material, is characterized in that roller w co-operates with a cleaning grid r for stripping off and conveying away impurities, the distance of the grid from roller w being adjustable. As shown, grid r has a beak n located below roller wand is adjustable about a pivot g; impurities passing through the grid are collected in a receptacle t located over the licker-in 1. Roller w, which is adjustable with respect to flats f and cylinder c, is covered with steel wire or saw-tooth clothing and rotates at a surface speed greater than that of flats, f but less than that of cylinder c.
