Class 80 (2) A clutch comprise! a flywheel 5, a back plate 13, a driver member 6 and ar axially movable pressure plate 10 having drive projec tions 11 received with some lateral clear ance in openings 12 in the back plate Clutch h engaging springs 15 act or clutch actuating levers 14. A number of leaf springs.22 are provided in combination with the drive projections 11, being fixed at one end to the pressure plate and at the other end to the back plate. These support the pressure plate so that the drive projections 11 are substantially centred in the openings 12 in the back plate when the pressure is not transmitting torque, and they resist lateral displacement of the drive projections when the pressure plate transmits torque, until the drive projections engage one side of the openings and give positive drive, thus tending to eliminate rattling on clutch engagement and disengagement. Wear 'adjustments are made by means of screws 19 and lock nuts 21.
