Abstract
703,596. Ventilators. INTERNATIONAL ANEMOSTAT HOLDING CO., Ltd. May 26, 1952 [May 25, 1951], No. 13303/52. Class 137 A device for distributing air to a room, or other enclosure, comprises a hollow inner member 11 spaced within an outer member 10 the widest part 17 of the inner member 11 corresponding with the narrowest part 14 of the member 10 to provide a constricted throat a<SP>1</SP> in a flared air delivery passage a so that fresh air from a duct D is accelerated as it passes the throat a<SP>1</SP> and induces air from the room to rise up the inner member 11 and mix with the stream of incoming fresh air. A baffle element 22 prevents incoming fresh air from entering the top of the member 11, air openings 24 being provided in the baffle 22 which correspond with the entrance to the passage a. Alternatively a passageway 27, Fig. 3, is adapted to lead directly from the duct D into the throat a<SP>1</SP>. In an alternative method of inducing room air into the device, openings 25 are formed in the neck part 16 of the member 10, and where the neck 13 is not exposed within the room space the openings 25 are connected to ducts which communicate with the room space. In a further method an open ended tube 26 extends through the duct D and has one end spaced from the inner member 11 and the other end in communication with air in the room.
