Abstract

701,346. Securing dynamo-electric machine coils. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Jan. 23, 1952 [Feb. 6, 1951], No. 1816/52. Class 35 The end winding of a rotor is secured by a retaining cap 30 of saucer-like form having an annular peripheral pocket portion 33 to enclose the end winding. The cap has a hub 31 to fit tightly upon the rotor shaft 21 and to obtain secure attachment to the rotor the latter has a stop 35 in which is pressed the outer peripheral edge of the cap 30. Prior to the fixing of the cap 30, the inner surface of the pocket 33 is provided with a plastic coating 40 which becomes hard after being exposed to atmosphere.
