699,287. Cathode materials. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 14, 1952 [July 17, 1951], No. 17731/52. Class 39(i). In a supply cathode, in which alkaline earth metal is continuously released during operation from an internal compound 4 to pass through the pores of a member 1 of sintered tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum or zirconium forming part of the container wall 2, the compound consists of one or more borides such as barium or strontium boride preferably in crystalline form. The plate 1 may be welded to the turned edge 3 of the molybdenum member 2 so that it is flattened.
