Class 38 (v) Movement to the left of a slidable handle 5 unlocks the door 2 of a container and also opens the switch 6. The door is locked by a pin 16 on a bell-crank lever 17 engaging behind a shoulder on a catch element 15 fixed to the door. The vertical limb of the bell-crank lever has pivoted to it at 20 a swinging part 21 which is biased by a spring 24 and has a flange 23 allowing only counter-clockwise rotation relative to the bellcrank lever. When the handle 5 is pulled, e.g. by gripping the parts 5, 29, a conical member 14 fixed to the handle engages a pin 22 on the part 21, rotating it and the bell-crank lever 17 so that the pin 16 releases the catch 15. Simultaneously the bevelled end 27 of the handle comes away from the micro-switch 6 which opens. In the form shown the door 2 is the panel of a drawer. In reclosing the door the conical member 14 engages the pin 21 and rotates the part 21 relative to the bell-crank 17 till it can slip by. Simultaneously the catch 15 slips past the pin 16 which lifts to allow it to do so and the part 27 recloses the switch. In a modification, Fig. 8 (not shown) the conical part 14 serves to operate the switch, the part 27 being dispensed with.
