698,144. Fuel-injection nozzles. C.A.V.,. Ltd. July 10, 1952 [July 25, 1951], No. 17599/51. Class 7 (iii). A liquid . fuel spray nozzle comprising a spring loaded discharge orifice closure member a has the member a formed separately of an associated stem g, provided with an axial vent passage p, in order to allow free lateral movement thereof. Liquid fuel is fed to the nozzle through a passage j, excess liquid escaping to a drain through the passage p in the stem g, a passage q in a washer o supporting the spring m and a passage r in a plug n. The end of the stem g has a hollow recess s of a diameter slightly larger than that of the entrance edge of the seating b. The member a may be conical, hemispherical or any other suitable shape.
