Abstract

698,078. Rectifying. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Dec. 20, 1949 [Dec. 23, 1948], No. 32613/49. Class 38 (ii). [Also in Group XXXVII] The invention comprises the combination of at least two rectifier circuits, at least one of which is similar to those disclosed in Specification 698,079. As shown, the other circuit comprises two rectifier tubes 17 having anodes 18 connected to extensions of the same power transformer winding that supplies the said at least one circuit, cathodes 21 connected through a separate load 22 to the transformer neutral point A, and control electrodes supplied through saturated transformers 19. By this arrangement two separate but related leads, such as the armature and field of a D.C. motor, may have a common supply but separate control. Alternatively both circuits may be as disclosed in the above Specification. The power input transformer may be double- or auto-wound. The various embodiments and control apparatus are similar to those of Specification 698,079.
