Abstract
697,710. Bed-settees; seats. ROZSA, P. Nov. 5, 1951, No. 25795/51. Addition to 697,693. Class 52(ii) The invention described in the parent Specification is modified so that the bed sections open out forwardly and one of the sections is provided with a pair of arms. As shown, the bed-settee comprises a frame 1 consisting of a seat cushion or bed section 3 having mounted thereon a rigid front wall 2, a back rest section or cushion 4 and an intermediate section or cushion 3a, the cushions 3a, 4 being hingely united. The cushions 3, 3a are carried by a plate 5 hinged at 5c to the frame 1, to the cushion 3a at 5b and to the cushion 3 at 5a while the rear of the section or cushion 3a is supported by a link from the frame 1. To extend the settee or seat to bed position the cushion 3 is drawn forwardly, causing also the cushions 3a, 4 to be brought to a horizontal position in alignment with the cushion 3. Arm rests may be carried by the frame of the section or cushion 3 and move with it or the arm rests 4a, 4b may, as shown in Fig. 4, be arranged laterally of, and hinged to, the back rest cushion frame 4.
