Abstract
696,911. Squeegees; combination articles. HERMAN, J. M., and ARCURI, D. Jan. 2, 1951, No. 166/51. Class 19. An implement for drying floors or other surfaces comprises a mop or brush secured by its back directly to one end of an operating stem or handle and a squeegee strip secured to the forward portion of a plate or board the rear portion of the latter being at an angle to the said forward portion and having a sleeve which slidably fits the stem or handle, the sleeve being provided with means whereby it can be secured on the stem or handle whereby the squeegee can be fixed in the desired position relatively to the brush, and in use the implement can be turned about the axis of the stem or handle so that either the brush or the squeegee can be positioned for operating on the floor or other surface. In the Figure, the sleeve 3 is secured to the handle by means of a thumb screw and has a forward portion in the form of a board of wood or metal plate 6 which carries the rubber squeegee strip 9 the latter being secured by means of a perforated blade 7 and screws 8 the heads of which bear on the blade whilst the shanks extend through apertures in a thickened part of the rubber strip into holes in the said forward portion whereby the strip is clamped between the latter and the blade 7.
