Abstract

696,445. Sieves. POND. G. S. April 1. 1952 [Feb. 16, 1951], No. 3831/51. Class 117 A cinder sifter which forms a removable part of a conventional dust-bin comprises a body portion 1 in the shape of a truncated cone, a wire mesh screen 2 being fitted in the smaller opening. The upper edge of the cone is provided with a beaded edge 3 and a handle 4 is hinged to the edge and can be moved from the operative position to either of the positions indicated by dotted lines. An annular rim 6 is provided within the conical body for the dust-bin lid 7. The sifter rests on the top of the bin and is reciprocated by means of the handle, the conical shape also providing an up and down movement. The device can be removed from the bin and used as an ordinary sifter.
