694,576. Garment racks. LAMONT, K. N. E. Nov. 23, 1951 [Aug. 29, 1950]. No. 21324/50. Class 52(v) An arm 5 provided with holes 6 for the reception of coat hangers or other garment supporting means is pivoted to a quadrant shaped bracket 1 and may be held in at least two predetermined positions by the engagement of a loop 8 with notches 4, 4'. A stop 9 or an inturned portion of the bracket helps to support the arm 5 in its horizontal position. In a modification, Fig. 6, the arm 14 has a projecting pin 17 which engages recesses 18 or 19 in the bracket 11. The pivot pin 15 passes through a slot near the end of the arm 14, the slot being so inclined to the longitudinal axis of the arm that any load carried by the arm serves to urge the retaining pin 17 into the notches.
