Abstract
691,843. Armouring cables. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE LIAISONS ELECTRIQUES. Sept. 21, 1951 [Sept. 23, 1950], No. 22195/51. Class 36. The armouring wires or tapes surrounding a cable sheath are individually coated with a non- inflammable, flexible, colourable dielectric material which is resistant to solvents and corrosive agents which are likely to come in contact with the cable, and are applied to the sheath in two layers, those in the inner layer each having a covering which serves to prevent the armouring from damaging the sheath, and those in the outer layer having a covering which is mechanically strong. The coverings for both layers may be of the same material differently plasticized, or different materials may be used, the covering of the outer layer being harder than that of the inner layer. The following, treated to make them fire-resistant where necessary; are suitable materials:-polyvinyl chloride, vinyl copolymers, polyamides, cellulose esters, polyisobutylene, chloroprene or other chlorinated derivatives of natural or synthetic rubber. The materials may be coloured for identification purposes.
