Abstract

751,565. Cables. PLANER, V. and PLANER, G. V. July 23, 1954, No. 21591/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 36. [Also in Group V] In making a colour-coded electrically insulated conductor two or more tapes of thermoplastic material, e.g. P.V.C., are wound on a conductor in helical overlapping relationship; one at least of the tapes is of a different colour to the other tape or tapes. The tapes are then welded together by heat. The tapes may be wound upon an initial covering of, e.g. polythene, which may be a wound tape, preferably having a reverse lay to the lay of the outer tapes or may be an extruded sleeve.
