Abstract

690,918. Windscreen cleaners. FIAT SOC. PER AZIONI. Feb. 12, 1952 [Feb. 14, 1951], No. 3740/52. Class 138 (i). A wiper for curved vehicle windscreens comprises a wiper blade formed by a rubber squeegee 7, Fig. 1, incorporating or having fitted therein a flexible metal strip 8 arranged with its flat portion turned towards the windscreen and the blade is provided with two hooks 5 engaged, by virtue of the elasticity of the strip, by two pins 4 carried by the ends of a beam 3 centrally hinged at 2 to the wiper arm 1. The strip 8 is retained in position by its bent ends 9. The hooks 5 are formed by metal plates having bent portions 6, Fig. 3, embracing the blade. The blade is released from the beam 3 by deforming it to the right in Fig. 1 until one of the hooks 5 is released from its pin 4.
