Abstract
690,007. Making tubular elbows &c. WELLINGTON TUBE WORKS, Ltd. Jan. 22, 1952 [March 8, 1961], No. 5606/51. Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv). Angular bending.-Elbows &c. are made by bending a tube f supported on grooved formers a by a reciprocated grooved former g. The formers a are pivotally mounted on levers c hinged to a frame b to facilitate release of the bent tube and are provided with recesses e to prevent extension of the metal on the outside of the bend. To avoid the formation of end lips on the unsupported inside of the bend, the tube end may be shaped before bending. Mandrels i may be used.
