Abstract

687,538. Oscillating cylinder pumps. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. Feb. 9, 1951 [Jan. 25, 1951]. No. 3236/51. Class 102 (i). In a reciprocating pump. the piston 17 is actuated by an eccentric 15 on a crankshaft 13 and the cylinder 18 is mounted on a pivot 20 in the form of a tube, inserted through an opening 21 in the crankcase 10. A transverse partition 25 divides the tube 21 into a suction space 26, having openings 28, and a delivery space 27, having openings 29. The cylinder has a sleeve 19 with slots 30 which aligns with either of the openings 28 or 29 as the cylinder oscillates. Liquid in the sump is drawn through a strainer 34 and delivered through filter 24 to the passage 33.
