Abstract

686,891. Reciprocating pumps. LIFEGUARD PRODUCTS, Ltd., and BROADHEAD, R. M. May 7, 1951. No. 10716/51. Class 102 (i). A reciprocating pump for delivering liquid from a container comprises a cylinder 3, adapted to rest on the bottom of the container, having a valve controlled inlet 4 and containing a manually operable spring- loaded plunger 6 having extending therefrom a hollow stem 8 forming the delivery passage and the plunger actuating means, and a short threaded metal rod 13 inserted in the end of the delivery passage to prevent excessive return flow of liquid from the delivery passage during the suction stroke. A block 9 is secured to the end of the stem 8 and carries a spray nozzle 11 and a finger plate 10 for actuating the plunger.
