Abstract
686,844. Cycle lighting systems. MILLER & CO., Ltd., H., and SMITH, T. J. Feb. 12, 1951 [Feb. 10, 1950], No. 3416/50. Class 38 (iv). In a cycle lighting system of the kind in which the generator 1 for supplying a main head-lamp bulb 3 is provided with a centrifugal switch 6 which, at low machine speeds, connects a battery 2 to an auxiliary head-lamp bulb 4, a low consumption rear lamp bulb 5 interconnects the generator and battery circuits and is thus operative from either source, whilst at the same time ensuring that only one of the bulbs 3, 4 can be effective at a time. A manuallyoperated switch 7 is provided for isolating the bulbs 4, 5 from the battery; the switch may also have a further pair of contacts (shown dotted) for short-circuiting the generator. This switch, together with battery, may be contained in the head-lamp casing. Specification 644,546 is referred to.
