Class 137 An air distributer device comprises a dished diffuser plate 1 with a central aperture, a deflector plate 4 formed with an aperture 5 and spaced from the diffuser plate and at least one shutter 6 pivoted to the deflector plate across the aperture 5, the reflector plate being so attached to the diffuser plate that the deflector plate as a whole is angularly adjustable relatively to the diffuser plate about an axis transverse to the axis of the shutter. The diffuser plate 1 is connected by a neck 2 to an air duct 3. The deflector plate 4 is attached by means of a spider 11 to a spindle 9 passing through a sleeve 10 fixed to the neck 2, Several independently movable shutters may be used, or the shutters may be arranged in sets, each of which is movable in unison, as shown. The deflector plate may be axially adjusted towards and away from the diffuser plate, may be rotatable about its own axis relatively to the diffuser, and may be located in desired positions by a spring-loaded ball. In another embodiment the spindle 9 is connected by a cross-bar to the plate 4 in which is mounted two semi-circular shutters. With the shutters open the air flows outwardly normal to the plane of plate 4, with the shutters fully closed the air strikes plate 4 and leaves the device in a direction substantially parallel to the plane of plate 4, and in intermediate positions of the shutters air is deflected at a corresponding angle. When the device includes more than one set of shutters air may be directed in several directions at once.
