685,270. Photographic cameras with detachable lenses. LEITZ GES., E. Feb. 6, 1951 [Feb. 9, 1950], No. 2887/51. Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i). A photographic camera body is provided with a holding ring 2 for a lens system, the holding ring having four recesses 3 separated from one another by four lugs, the recesses being arranged to correspond with the corners of a square or oblong image field so that the field is not obstructed by the holding ring. A lens system for attachment to such a camera body comprises a sleeve 4 bearing four lugs 5 spaced from one another by indentations 6, the lugs being complementary to the recesses on the holding ring on the camera body and the indentations arranged so that the sleeve does not obstruct the image field when the sleeve is secured to the camera body.
