685,167. Impact pulverizers. POYSER, R. G. April 6, 1951 [Oct. 23, 1950]. No. 25732/50. Class 59 An impact mill for pulverizing stone and similar materials comprises two sets of rotatable hammers 8 arranged within a casing 1 provided with impact bars 2, lining sections 3, and feed and discharge openings 10, 22. Below the outlet of a supply hopper 12 is arranged a vibration feeder 14 so that the material is fed in two streams to the hammers. The feeder may be mounted through springs 15 or through rubber or other resilient means and may be vibrated by an eccentric shaft 16 or other means. The hopper is provided with slide doors 13 to adjust the rate of feed. Below the hammers are arranged an adjustable rotatable breaker bar 20 and grids 21. The hammers may be free to swing about their pins 7 or they may be fixed to the discs 6; alternatively, the hammers may be fixed to support brackets pivoted to the discs, such brackets each having an extension connected to the disc by a shear pin.
