Abstract
684,962. Veils. SIGMUND, M. Dec. 16, 1949 [Dec. 17, 1948; March 12, 1949], Nos. 32304/49 and 32305/49. Class 141. [Also in Group VI] A mask comprises a portion of netlike pliant textile material for covering the face, head or neck, connected to a stouter fastening portion which extends from the upper part of the head to the ears or nape of the neck and is provided with fastening means at the ears or neck. The face part 1 is shaped by stretching or tucking &c. to fit over the nose and is provided with slits for the mouth, eyes and nose. It is provided with a rubber band 4 along its lower edge to fit under the chin and may be held against the face by the use of a colourless adhesive applied on the skin along the edge of the hair or by the use of a head part 2 of firmer material which may be in the form of a wig or head-dress. An extension of the face part 1 below the rubber band 4 may be provided to cover the neck. When the mask is used for disguise or fancy dress purposes the head part 2 may be provided with expansible gussets and the face part 1 may be coloured by paint or embroidery to give the effect desired.
