Abstract
683,946. Securing wall and ceiling linings. CUCKOW, A. E. E., and GLIKSTEN DOORS, Ltd. May 26, 1950 [Feb. 26, 1949; June 21, 1949; Sept. 15, 1949; Nov. 7, 1949]. Nos. 5274/49, 16417/49, 23773/49 and 28394/49. Class 20 (iv). Lining boards are secured by fixing to the structure against which they are to be mounted a number of parallel, tubular supports, each of which has an outwardly facing longitudinal slot, the boards being placed against the supports and secured thereto by screws which enter the slots, the opposed free edges of which engage in the screw threads in the manner of a nut. In the form shown, a series of tubes A having open slots B are secured to the building framework and spring clips E are spaced at intervals along each tube. The edges of the lining boards D are placed against the flat portions F<SP>1</SP> of the clips and a cover plate C placed across the joint between the boards. Screws C\ which may be ordinary wood screws, are passed through holes in the plate C and are screwed into the slots B, the boards being tightened on to the spring clips so that they are held resiliently to the supports. Several modifications are described, for example when it is desired to have a continuous lining surface without cover strips, an attachment plate G is first secured to the supports A by screws C<SP>1</SP> and by pronged spring clips E. The boards D are then attached to the plate G by means of pronged brackets H<SP>1</SP>.
