Abstract

683,724. Sifting apparatus. SIMON (HOLDINGS), Ltd., H., LOCKWOOD, J. F., BALL, J. S. and WATTS, L. M. Aug 24, 1951 [Sept. 15, 1950], No. 22706/50. Class 117 A sifting machine for grain comprises superposed sifting units A, B, C, different types of motion being imparted to the different units. For example, the units A, B, C are given gyrating, reciprocating and combined gyrating and reciprocating motion respectively. Each unit A, C consists of a two-deck frame in which the outlets may be covered by trays so that " overtails" or " throughs " may be discharged from the machine or delivered to the next deck for resieving. Unit B is a single-deck frame and any desired number of sieve units may be used and any flow diagram for the material may be followed by suitable arrangements of the cover trays for the outlets.
