Abstract

683,104. Electric incandescent lamps with internal screens BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 7,1951 [March 31, 1950], No. 5538/51. Class 39(ii) A heat deflector located above the filament of an electric incandescent lamp provided with a glass stem press, consists of a thin disc 13 of metal, such as aluminium, provided with a slot 14 which extends radially inward from the periphery 15 so that the disc can be mounted upon the stem press 4 by sliding it laterally to engage thereon the slot being of a length sufficient for the disc to be coaxial with the lamp stem 3. One or more slots or grooves 16 are moulded on opposite sides of the stem press to engage the sides 19 of the slot 14 with a tight frictional fit and, in the example, the parts of the slot 14 that engage the grooves 16 are formed with offset tongues 20 of a height corresponding to the width of the grooves to provide a locking and supporting engagement.
