Abstract

682,381. Circular looms; shuttles. SLOWAK, H. July 12, 1948 [July 12, 1947], No. 18663/48. Classes 142(ii) and 142(iii) A circular loom shuttle S, Fig. 6, runs on a track comprising pairs of rollers M and is driven by a gear Z, concentric with the axis of the loom, through double pinions R meshing with a curved rack K on the shuttle. Entanglement of the (horizontal) warp threads with the mechanism is prevented by guards E, O, Figs. 3 and 6, which mask the rollers M, whereby the threads descending to the bottom shed line become squeezed together between the guards; for the same purpose, the pinions R are straddled by wire loops U.
