Abstract

681,734. Radio tuning apparatus. PYE, Ltd. Feb. 7, 1951 [Feb. 16, 1950], No. 4020/50. Class 40 (v). [Also in Group XXXV] A tuning device in which a magnetic core 13 is movable in a former 6 carrying a coil 7, comprises a pair of spaced parallel arms 2 and 3, one having an aperture 4 and the other a slot 5 for holding the former, the edges of the slot depressing or cutting into the former to hold it firmly between the two arms. As shown, a number of formers and coils may be provided, and the magnetic cores 13 are fixed to a metal slider 10 which may be fixed in position by a screw having a knurled knob 19. The arms 2 and 3 form part of a channel member 1 and a panel plate of metal and insulating material 14a, 14b may be fixed to the channel member. Specification 666,900 is referred to, regarding the use of the device in a television receiver.
